The Zebra
The Skipper
We like to think of the skipper as a jumper. But, in the summer, the skipper rebels and it stands alone as an adorable drop waist sundress. Tennis anyone?
The Sailor
Okay. We admit it - we watch Hannah Montana with our girls. And, we like it. The sailor is our ode to Hannah. It's a miniskirt, and we love it with the footless leggings some of our favorite retailers are selling this fall. The vertical piecing on the sailor will draw lots of compliments for your diva within.
The Ringlet
Need a party dress that is easily funked up? The ringlet has a split personality. It looks so demure . . . until you throw on your boots and turn on your personality. The ringlet is particularly adorable when you highlight your favorite fabric in the skirt of the dress, pair it with a solid fabric in the bodice, and choose an accent fabric for the sleeves.
The Peacock
At the age of 3, our daughters went to the grocery store dressed as princesses. They don't do that anymore, but they do wear their peacock skirts with pride. We think the overlain ruffles channel their girly sides. We are thrilled they still like to flounce a ruffle. We fear for when they will not.
The Painted Lady
When making bug stew, it's bad form to muddy the hem of your dress. No worries with the painted lady. Cut to hit right at or above the knee, the painted lady is a summer dress a girl can play in.
The Monarch
The Greeks liked the symmetry of the number three. We share their aesthetic. Around here, we call the monarch the perfect dress. In the summer, it's a sundress that is at home on the beach or in a garden. In the fall and winter, put a long sleeve shirt or a peter pan collar blouse underneath to keep you snug.
Kerchief
Our kerchief is made to be worn on the head, but one of our favorite tween fashionistas wears hers around her waist. It works great with short or long hair.
Headband
Our headband features your favorite maggie delaney fabric. It comes in two sizes and is elasticized.
Bloomers
Bloomers are great for covering diapers or for covering the bums of little girls who prefer cartwheels to walking.
Bandana
Our bandana can be worn as a bandana (also known as a do-rag) when you stretch out the band of fabric or it can be worn as a headband when you scrunch the band of fabric together.
